Bookings are now being taken for the following RYA courses being run at AYC:

Saturday 3rd March: RYA VHF Marine Radio (SRC) - £75 (non-AYC members £90) + separate £60 payable on the day for SRC licence. The Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law whenever a Marine VHF set (fixed or handheld) is being used on a boat (i.e. one person on the boat at the time of use must hold this certificate). Saturday 10th/Sunday 11th March: RYA Powerboat Level 2 - £170 (non-AYC members £210). Click PB2 10th/11th MARCH to book online. 6 places available (priority to AYC members until 4 weeks before the course).

Saturday 24th/Sunday 25th March: RYA Powerboat Level 2 - £170 (non-AYC members £210). Click PB2 24th/25th MARCH to book online. 6 places available (priority to AYC members until 4 weeks before the course).

Saturday 24th March: RYA First Aid - £60 per person (AYC members & non members). This one-day course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages. Click FIRST AID for details of the course and how to book. 12 places available.

Thursday 5th/Friday 6th April: RYA Safety Boat Course - This course is for individuals nominated by the Cadet & Family Sailing and Racing WGs to support Club dinghy sailing activities. The cost of this course will be subsidised at £30.00 (to cover course literature, certificate & a contribution to fuel/refreshments) - if you would like to be considered for this, please speak to Guy Clayton or Bryan Davis (or email sailing@axeyachtclub.co.uk). 6 places are available. Candidates must hold a PB2 certificate and have additional experience - boat handling should be "automatic" as the emphasis is on using the boat as a tool.
